Dr. David Mathai

Psychiatrist

Dr. David Mathai is a board-certified psychiatrist with advanced research and therapy training as a postdoctoral fellow with the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine, while also contributing to the Baylor Center for Medical Ethics as a Health Policy Scholar with the Ethical and Legal Implications of Psychedelics in Society (ELIPSIS) Program and to the American Society of Ketamine Physicians, Psychotherapists, and Practitioners (ASKP3) as Expert Faculty. As a researcher, he has investigated topics such as behavioral models of addiction and cognitive impairment, the neuropsychiatric effects of cannabis, and clinical properties of psychedelic-type therapies such as ketamine, MDMA, and psilocybin.
