Dr. Jacob Marion Poole

Psychiatrist

Dr. Poole joined Greenbrook Mental Wellness Centers in August 2023. He is the psychiatrist for the Palm Beach Gardens and Port Saint Lucie locations in Florida. Growing up in Louisiana, attending college and medical school in Tennessee, completing his medical residency in South Carolina, and working in Florida, Dr. Poole is known for his unique combination of medical know-how and southern hospitality. His areas of interest include depression, anxiety, smoking cessation, and neuromagnetic medicine. He also has a passion for research. His work includes creating an automated system to help reduce tobacco deaths, improving the informed consent process for controlled medications, and helping to design a brain-computer interface device which allowed patients with Lou Gehrig’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases to communicate. He has presented at the American Psychiatric Association, and even studied lab mice returning from space. Dr. Poole’s hobbies include SCUBA diving, traveling, reading, and fitness. He offers an open door policy and a welcoming atmosphere for all patients.
